I live in Cape Town, South Africa, where I work at a school and study at a local university. I also write a feminist blog. Wait! I’m already doing that!! My life plan is happening.

I go to law school at Michigan, where evidently there are lakes, Chicago and Canada. Amber moves up with me because we’re awesome and we get a lovely house. She brings Onyx, and I adopt another kitten. I name him Noir. We will take long-weekend roadtrips to the Pacific Northwest. Except for the part where law school is hard and probably boring mostly, I think we live happily ever after.

During Leah’s study abroad trip in Ireland, she will fall in love with a dashing young Irishman. This particular Irishman also happens to be particularly wealthy. Leah and I will use this financial stability to open an Irish pub. We aren’t quite sure if Irish pubs are in high demand in Ireland, but we’re going to do it anyway.

On my travels around the world, I will stop to visit Andrew Niccum and Robby J. in Qatar. We will get coffee and talk about the world. We will go to the desert.

Because of a variety of factors, namely by grace of genetics and being born female, I will outlive my husband. While this will be very sad, I will have my best friends, Sunny and Mamber, both also recently widowed, to help me through the loss. We will move to the outer banks of North Carolina, where we will open a coffee shop, and the walls will be made of bookcases. People can buy the books, or trade the books, or just sit down and read the books. And we will serve them fantastic coffee creations that Mamber and I have come up with, including a few with provocative names. And Sunny will make her famous cheeseballs. And we will live happily ever after.

Here we are, trapped in the amber of the moment. There is no why.

Working for Rolling Stone Magazine. I write a column, reporting the ways rock stars and pop stars and movie stars use their glitzy stardom to promote justice and human rights and generally good things. I travel all across the country, sometimes around the world, to interview artists and learn more about their altruistic endeavours. I live in a flat in a City, and I have a cat named Prince logo.svg (but I call him Prince for short).
